The terms and conditions of sale below apply to all purchases of Skippermate Marine products.

By placing an order with us you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you need any clarification on anything within these Terms and Conditions then please contact us at sales@karavantrailers.com.au or on 0438 800 162 prior to placing an order. Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

We, and similar expressions, refer to Skippermate Marine. You, and similar expressions, refer to you, our customer or proposed customer.

PAYMENT

Full payment by either cash or credit is required prior to delivery of the products.

Company or personal cheques will not be accepted. You are responsible for any costs incurred in arranging payment for the goods e.g. bank transfer fees and related charges.

RISK AND TITLE

All risk and title in Skippermate Marine products passes on receipt of full payment of the products by you.

DELIVERY

You are liable for payment of all delivery charges, including any additional charges incurred as a result of difficulties with access. You must ensure correct delivery address details are provided to us and notify us in advance if there will be difficulties accessing the delivery address (e.g. staircases or narrow passages). We will use reasonable endeavors to meet the estimated delivery date.

If we do not meet the estimated delivery date for any reason, our liability will be limited, at our option, to resupplying the goods at a different time or at a maximum, to the refund of the purchase price. Products will only be delivered if a person aged over 18 years and able to accept delivery is at the delivery address.

PLEASE NOTE: Any delivery that is over 30kgs will attract a surcharge for delivery to residential properties. Please ensure you provide a commercial address (eg. your work address or the shop doing the work on your trailer) to avoid any surcharges or delays (farms and home businesses not included, must be a commercial address). If you only have a residential address, the freight company will levy a surcharge and there may be delays in delivery.

TRACKING YOUR ORDER

Skippermate will always prioritise order dispatch, orders placed early will often be dispatched on the same day. Notification will be sent via email once your order is processed and packed, please allow up to 48 hours for this. These emails are computer generated, so be sure to check your junk mail. When your parcel has been dispatched it is up to the courier, the best way to check your delivery status is by using the tracking supplied by the courier.

INSTALLATION AND SAFETY INFORMATION

We recommend professional installation of our products. The purchaser agrees to bear the full liability if any damages occur during installation. Any claims for damages occurring from installation will not be refunded or exchanged. At the discretion of Skippermate Marine, we may offer you a rebate price on replacement parts.
Make sure trailer is properly and safely supported before any work is conducted. Always test any components fitted and hook up to vehicle is done correctly prior to departure.
Make regular periodic checks of all components throughout the duration of your trip and prior to initial journey everytime. Wash down the complete trailer and components immediately after exposure to saltwater or other corrosives.

SALTWATER DOUBLE COATED PREMIUM RANGE PRODUCT DISCLAIMER

Our supplier has advised us that all due care is taken during installation of components, quality assurance pressure testing, and all transportation, however minimal cosmetic blemishes or chipping of the saltwater protective coating may occur, particularly where the coating meets bare dacromet surfaces and edges or being held in pressure testing machinery.
To minimize this, it is recommended that all due care is taken removing from packaging & assembly of the product be carried out on a soft surface.
(Due to Australian dangerous goods Shipping restrictions we are unable to supply any liquid form of touch up for shipping and installation chipping the factory have advised that most brands of Brake Caliper Enamel with ceramic spray cans available from most automotive parts outlets for touching up and further maintenance)
Wash down brake parts immediately after exposure to saltwater or other corrosives.

CUSTOMER GUARANTEES

The following only applies if you are a deemed "consumer" under the Australian Consumer Law and may not apply in your particular case. In telling you the following, we do not vary or extend the remedies otherwise available to you.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure

To the full extent permitted by law, the maximum aggregate liability of Skippermate Marine for any breach of a condition, guarantee or warranty whether implied by law or otherwise (including the Australian Customer Law), is limited to the amount payable by you to us in respect of the product giving rise to the liability.

In addition to the rights and remedies you may have available under the Australia Customer Law or any other law that applies to the goods or services that you have purchased from Skippermate Marine, you may also be entitled to additional benefits under the terms of any additional Extended Warranty that comes with your Product.

In order to submit a claim for a defective product, you will need to (at your own expense) contact Skippermate Marine on 0438 800 162 or by email at sales@karavantrailers.com.au with details of your name, address, telephone number, Karavan Trailers Australia product details, and details of the defect claimed including images of defects.

PRIVACY

We may collect personal information in connection with our dealings with you. If so, we will abide by our privacy policy, a copy of which is available on this site.

GENERAL

If any part of these terms and conditions is found to be void, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then that part will be deemed to be superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that matches the intent of the original provision as closely as possible. The remainder of these terms and conditions continues to be enforceable and valid.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State or Territory in Australia where the products are purchased.

RETURNS/REFUNDS

We must be informed of any damaged or faulty goods within 7 days of the customer receiving them if a replacement or refund is to be requested.

Damaged or faulty goods will either be replaced, or the cost will be refunded, within 7 days of receipt of the returned goods (stock levels permitting).

Items returned due to incorrect choice must be returned within 7 days upon receipt. Freight charges to return the items will be covered by the customer.
